What is Full Spectrum CBD?

There are been a plethora of CBD products that have exploded in popularity since the legalization of hemp in the U.S. in 2018.  What is CBD Isolate?

 CBD isolate is the purest form of CBD that you can find. It most commonly appears as either an oil or a solid crystal. Unlike full-spectrum CBD extract, it doesn’t contain any other cannabinoids or terpenes. Instead, these other compounds are removed from the extract. This includes THC. In fact, there is no THC at all in CBD isolate. As a result, CBD isolate is the strongest concentration of CBD you can get.

You might think that this means CBD isolate is more effective than full spectrum CBD. However, this may not be the case, according to some sources. Experts don’t know whether removing other cannabinoids or terpenes makes CBD isolate stronger. In fact, these compounds may enhance some of the effects of CBD, or have different effects entirely. Some experts call this the “entourage effect.” Scientists still need to determine the effectiveness of the compound.


 Should I use Full Spectrum CBD or CBD Isolate?

 There’s no easy answer to this question. Although CBD isolate contains ore CBD than the full spectrum does, the lack of terpenes and other cannabinoids may make CBD isolate less effective than the full spectrum. The only real way to find out is to test each extract out yourself and see which you prefer. Both CBD isolate and full-spectrum CBD extract can be found on the internet, and are legal to purchase in the U.S. and Canada. Trying both will allow you to decide for yourself which product is best.

There are a few things to keep in mind when purchasing CBD isolate or full-spectrum CBD. Always make sure to check out the dosage of your serving size. You don’t want to take too much or too little. In addition, check the ingredient list to make sure that whatever you buy, the extract is made from full hemp plants, not just hemp seeds.
